Greeting Sorors and Friends!

 

Welcome to the official website for Shelby County (TN) Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. I am honored and humbled to serve as the president of our prestigious chapter. We are a membership of over 500 talented, dedicated and college educated women working together to provide service to our community.

 

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is a private non-profit organization founded on January 13, 1913 by 22  college women on the campus of Howard University in Washington, D.C. Our organization is committed to public service with a primary focus on the Black community and to the constructive development of its more than 350,000 members.

Since being chartered on April 25, 2009 in alignment with Delta’s National Five Point Programmatic Thrust, Shelby County (TN) Alumnae Chapter’s activities and events focus on:

  • Economic Development

  • Education Development

  • International Awareness and Involvement

  • Physical and Mental Health

 

SCTAC has built a legacy of unwavering commitment to service within our designated service area of Shelby County by focusing on scholarship, encouraging social action, maintaining staunch political involvement, and providing programs and services to meet community concerns.

If you are a member of our illustrious, dynamic sisterhood looking for a chapter home, I invite you to join us at a chapter meeting or event. You will be welcomed with open arms! If you are a community member, please support our public events so that we can continue the legacy and vision that our 22 esteemed Founders began on January 13, 1913.
